Betting on the Champions League Final

Most people were expecting an El Clasico Champions League final, however both Chelsea and Bayern Munich have upset the odds and now face each other in the Munich next month.

Even those over at pokerbonus note how Both teams were brilliant over the two legs against the Spanish giants, Chelsea managing to hold off Barcelona with ten men to win 3-2 on aggregate while Bayern needed penalties to overcome Real Madrid.

The two sides most certainly deserve their place in the final of the competition. The German giants will feel they have an advantage in this game with it being played on their home turf, however lots of people are saying The Blues name seems to already be on the trophy after the journey they have had.

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has come out and said he wants his former side Chelsea to win the competition. He said: “I just hope it is a good final and of course I want the Blues to win, even though I have a lot of respect for the reds. I have a blue rib, still. Inter and Chelsea mean a lot to me.”

Neither club has had a great season domestically, the Stamford Bridge side currently sit in sixth position which is disappointing for a team of their stature.

Juup Heynckes’ men were denied the Budesliga title by Borussia Dortmund so have to settle for second place this season.

Despite defeating the current holders Barcelona, Roberto Di Matteo’s side will still need to upset the odds to claim their first Champions League trophy. You can back the English side at 4/1, perhaps using some of your poker genius money?

Bayern Munich have won the tournament four times so are being placed as favourites for this match, they are available at 5/6.

It is sure to be a great occasion at the Allianz Arena in May. The finalists have been on an incredible journey to get to the final and now are just one victory away from winning the biggest award that European club football has to offer.
