Aruba hosts Ultimate Blackjack Tour

The island of Aruba has had its share of bad publicity lately because of the still unsolved disappearance of American teener Natalee Holloway who was vacationing in the island when she disappeared. The island has now been very battered with negative publicity that could really tarnish its reputation among tourists all over the world. Fortunately, there are still people and businesses who have faith in Aruba.The gambling community is now proving that Aruba still has the drawing power that would entice people to go there. Just recently the inaugural Ultimate Blackjack competition was announced to be held in the island. The event is expected to run in tandem with the 5th edition of the very popular Aruba Poker Classic.

The Ultimate Blackjack Tour (UBT) from Ultimate Bet officially started the event a week ago at the Radisson Hotel Casino in Palm Beach, Aruba. The said event will then be followed on the second day by the start of the Poker Classic.

The UBT is the brainchild of former poker World Champion Russ Hamilton. This is Hamilton’s own attempt to try and create a buzz around blackjack that the game of poker has been enjoying of late.

Poker has long been a mainstay of cable television since the late 1990s and in 2003 the World Poker Tour helped usher in the game to a wider global audience and eventually a worldwide phenomenon that draws millions of new players to the game.
